NEC/AAAE is proud to anncouce that Maria Satre will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2017 "Reaching for the Stars" Conference. She will speak during the Corporate Appreciation Luncheon on Tuesday, August 15th.

As President and Chief Operating Officer for Signature’s global operations, Sastre is responsible for the daily operations of Signature’s worldwide network of fixed base operations (FBOs) and maintenance centers.

Sastre joined Signature from the non-profit organization Take Stock in Children where she served as President and CEO. Prior to leading the non-profit, Sastre served with Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD where she held the positions of Vice President, International, Latin America, Caribbean and Asia and Vice President of Operations during her eight year tenure.

Her roles included strategic growth across emerging markets as well as managing all aspects of operations and the guest experience onboard Royal Caribbean’s fleet of vessels.

Previously, Sastre served as Vice President of Worldwide Customer Satisfaction for United Airlines where she led the newly created customer satisfaction division that was charged with refining the customer service experience. Her responsibilities during her tenure at United Airlines also included strategy development, airport operations, international call centers and financial management.

Mike GiardinoMichael A. Giardino, aspired to be a pilot at a young age watching his dad take flying lessons at ROC. In September 2011, Director Giardino retired as Commander from the United States Navy following a decorated twenty-six year military career which included assignments on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Air Component Command, deployments to Afghanistan, 2,540 mishap-free flight hours and ultimately Executive Officer of Naval Air Station Key West, Florida.

A career in fighting crime is one Walsh never expected, but justice has been his life’s mission since July 27, 1981 – the day his son, Adam, was abducted from a mall near his home in Hollywood, Florida. Adam was found murdered two weeks later.

Scott BrockmanScott Brockman joined the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority in June 2003. He was appointed the Authority's President and Chief Executive Officer on January 2, 2014 after having previously served as its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Over Mr. Brockman’s 32 year career, he has also held executive management positions with Tucson International Airport, Des Moines International Airport, and Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. Prior to starting his aviation career, Mr. Brockman spent several years with a CPA firm in Sarasota Fl. Mr. Brockman has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. Mr. Brockman is one of approximately 500 active airport executives worldwide to be designated as an accredited airport executive (AAE).

MorrisCCarter Morris is Executive Vice President, AAAE Services, at the American Association of Airport Executives. Carter leads the association’s operations, services and solutions including, finance, information services, the Transportation Security Clearinghouse and Training and Technology Services.
Carter helped develop and shape numerous initiatives within the industry including the nation’s first domestic known traveler program as well as the formation the AAAE Transportation Security Clearinghouse which facilitates the background vetting for aviation workers nationwide.

Jim Walsh170James G. Walsh, A.A.E., is the Chief Financial Officer at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. He is responsible for all financial, commercial management, capital programming, ground transportation and parking operations at BWI Marshall Airport. Additionally he currently sereves as the President of NEC/AAAE.  

During his earlier tenure at BWI Marshall, he implemented a new concession developer program that doubled sales per enplanement. He also led two successful negotiations for a new airline use and lease agreement that enhanced BWI Marshall’s cost recovery through rates and charges. Mr. Walsh has 28 years of experience in airport management and consulting.

Wade DavisSince 2006, Wade A. Davis is the Executive Director of Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority which operates the recently expanded Ogdensburg International Airport (OGS), the Port of Ogdensburg, the first U.S. Port on the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Seaway system, the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge including the Ogdensburg Border Station, light industrial/heavy industrial parks, FTZ #118, and oversees contract operation of the New York and Ogdensburg Railroad. Wade is responsible for direct supervision of five executive level officers and for the implementation of the Authority’s Adopt4ed Strategic Plan. Founded in 1950 and based in Ogdensburg, New York, the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority (OBPA) is a New York State public benefit corporation with a seven-member Board of Directors appointed by the Governor of New York State engaged in transportation services and real estate development for the commercial/industrial client.

Chad brings tremendous energy to the company and is consistently sought out for his innovative problem solving skills. He leads the strategic growth of MJ’s aviation market sector and provides oversight relative to new services, growth opportunities and industry trends. He has a highly diverse background that includes contract negotiations, airport operations management, and aviation planning. He has performed FAA and DOD airspace liaison duties in numerous countries including Malaysia, Thailand and Oman.

Torelli HeadshotFor the past nine years, Michael Torelli has been the Manager of Properties & Business Development at Stewart International Airport (SWF) for the Port Authority of NY & NJ (PANYNJ). The PANYNJ is a bi-state agency that took over the operations of SWF in November of 2007 to have it become a low cost, economical & efficient gateway for passengers and cargo into the tri-state area. SWF is located 57 miles north of New York City and is a joint use airport, sharing the field with military units from the NYANG, USMC and USMA at West Point. SWF is comprised of 2,406 acres of land, including the 300+ acre SWF Industrial Park, FTZ # 37 and numerous parcels of property that include both airside & landside development. Michael was hired in July 2008 to this position and remains part of the core airport management team, specifically responsible for the day to day management of all tenant agreements & relationships, property management, business development, business continuity and is a liaison to the local community including elected officials. Additionally, Michael is part of the SWF Air Service Development Team, assisting in the attraction of new airlines and the expansion of existing carriers.

2015 CBraleyCarlton Braley is the Assistant Director – Operations and Facilities at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, Manchester NH. He began his career for the City of Manchester Department of Aviation April 1994.

Carlton is the Academic Chairman for the International Aviation Snow Symposium, (IASS) Committee. Carlton has chaired and lead the development of the International Aviation Snow Academies offered at AAAE and NEC/AAAE conventions and on-site at airports.

Steve Cipolla is an Airfield Supervisor for the Buffalo International Airport. He has been working in the airfield for over 40 year’s.  Steve started working after graduating from college in 1977 as a mechanics helper.   An ACE certified electrician, he served as an electrician at Buffalo International Airport and Niagara falls International Airport for over seven years before becoming an airfield supervisor for the last Five years. Steve is member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and the NEC, and is an instructor for the International Aviation Snow Academy.  He is also a Training officer for the annual Part 139 training conducted by Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
Michael LegereMichael Legere is the Manager of Operations and Facilities at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.  Mike is a graduate of Bridgewater State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management.  He worked for 5 Years at Hyannis Airport, MA in Airport Operations & Maintenance before moving to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport where he has spent the last 20 years and currently serves as the Manager, Airport Operations & Facilities.
Jeff Miller 3 of 3Jeff Miller is the Operations Manager of Pittsburgh International Airport.  He has 12 years in aviation, his private pilot certification and is a  certified member of AAAE.  Throughout his career he has orked at 6 airports; -Manistee Airport Michigan, Daytona Beach Airport Florida, Stockton Airport California, San Jose Airport California, South Bend Airport and most recently Pittsburgh International Airport where he is the Airfield Operations Manager.  His duties included the oversight of the Airfield Department including the SICP.  Jeff has a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle and is Currently in their masters degree program pursing finance. He is also in the writing process for AAE.

Angus Davol is a Senior Transportation Planner at San Francisco International Airport. In this role, he oversees technology-related projects for the Airport’s Landside Operations department, including Transportation Network Company operations and development of the Airport’s new Ground Transportation Management System.

Before joining SFO, Angus worked as a transportation planner at Stanford University and as a consultant with IBI Group in San Francisco and Boston, where he specialized in transportation modeling and Intelligent Transportation Systems planning and design. He has also worked as a Civil Engineer at the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, where he started his career in transportation. Angus has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Brown University and an M.S. in Transportation from MIT.
Don Griffin is a Business Development Manager with Lyft Inc., a San Francisco based Transportation Network Company (TNC) now operating at over 240 airports across the United States. His duties include establishing and managing airport TNC agreements to further develop Lyft’s airport portfolio. Donald’s background in airport ground transportation prepared him well for his current role, where prior to joining Lyft he spent 13 years working for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority at both Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport managing contracts related to Airport Ground Transportation including; parking, taxi, shuttle bus, limousine, rental cars, hotel shuttles, and TNCs. Donald graduated from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.

Paul is currently Vice President of Engineering for the Rhode Island Airport Corporation based at Providence Airport (PVD). RIAC oversees the six airports that fall under the Corporation’s oversight including PVD (Providence), Block Island, Newport, Westerly, North Central and Quonset, a joint use facility. Currently we are in the midst of a $250M Expansion Program at PVD that includes three new EMAS installations as part of an overall RSA improvement program, a runway extension of 1,534 feet which we just broke ground on, relocation and construction of a large community soccer and softball complex, the removal of an existing 1938 era Hangar, relocation of a four-lane arterial roadway, and major FAA ILS equipment replacement, relocations and upgrades.
